News at the Phi Psi house includes:
The Tide continues to roll as the Number 1 team in the nation with a 11-0 record!!! On Nov. 29, Alabama will begin its own winning streak against Tubby’s Tigers.
Beginning this Fall 2008 football season your Phi Psi chapter at the University of Alabama has been offering alumni reserved tent space for tailgating. The tailgate setup is in the front lawn of the fraternity house nearest the Phi Delta Theta house. With all 10 tents sold for this season, it has been a great success and a wonderful opportunity for alumni to have a reserved tailgating area and to socialize with friends and families before and after every home football game.
We’d like to take this opportunity to invite alumni to come check out the tailgate operation and if you don’t have tickets to the game then you can watch the game on the TVs under the big tent, just yards away from the stadium. If you are interested in reserving a tailgate spot for next season then let us know, we have plans to expand the number of tents from the 10 we currently offer. More information regarding the tailgate operation can be found in the news announcement below titled “Alumni Tailgating on the Phi Psi Lawn”.
In addition to the two large screen TV’s under the large tent, we also have a nice TV in the dinning room and a very nice (large) TV in the TV room (added in the basement this fall) are all available for people without tickets to view the game on. Our crowd has increaded each game and we are ready for a really big turnout for this last game that We hope will truly mark the Team's year as a great one. The Iron Bowl 2008 looks like one you will want to attend at close range to hear the roar of the crowd.
Kickoff for the Auburn game is 2:30pm and will be televised on CBS. We will have the tailgate operation set up by 9:30am. The game day meal will be served from 11:30pm to 2:00pm, there is a nominal fee of $5 per meal. The meals, prepared fresh by our housemother Linda Campbell and the kitchen staff, are well worth the $5.00 cost. Linda asked me to add that the hot chocolate pudding cake with whipped cream and caramel or chocolate sauce is worth the trip.
If the weather is good we will have a band on the front porch from 10am to 2 pm before the game. If the weather is not suitable then the band will play in party room from 6pm to 10pm after the game.
So come join your Brothers and be a part of history in the making as Bama beats Auburn.
Just a quick note to invite you to a Black Friday celebration at TGI Friday’s at the intersection of I-459 and Highway 280 (next to the Hilton Hotel) on Friday, November 28th starting at 1:00 p.m.
With the Holidays coming I thought this might be a way for all of us to get together while the wives/ladies do their thing at the mall. The Friday after Thanksgiving offers the guys an opportunity to enjoy one another’s company with a few cocktails and relish the season so far by the Crimson Tide…plus, we can get ready for “the big game” the following day against “you know who.”
What better way to spend some quality time with your Brothers and renew the fraternal spirit on the day after Thanksgiving. Please put this on your calendar of “must do’s” and let’s all get together and slip each other the Grip.

My name is Aubrey Richardson, Chapter GP for the Alabama Alpha Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi. I will be participating in the Tuscaloosa Executive Lock-Up to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Funds raised through the Tuscaloosa Executive Lock-Up will enable MDA to pay for muscle biopsies and flu shots, send children to summer camp, organize support group sessions and follow-up clinic visits, and help purchase wheenchairs and communication devices. In addition, MDA will be able to continue funding valuable research for the treatment and cures of over 40 neuromuscular diseases.
As part of my participation in the Tuscaloosa Executive Lock-Up, I will be taken to "jail" where I will be locked-up until I can raise a predetermined bail. As a Fraternity, we have been asked to raise $2,600 to help bail me out of "jail." Any donations that you are able to make would greatly help the Fraternity to raise money for MDA. Donations can be make at the following website:
The event is October 22nd, so please have any donations you wish to make in by October 21st at midnight.
If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com. Thanks!

Beginning with the Fall 2008 football season your Phi Psi chapter at the University of Alabama is offering alumni reserved tent space for tailgating. Tailgates will take place on the front lawn nearest the Phi Delta Theta house. This will be a great opportunity for alumni to have
a reserved tailgating area and to socialize with friends and families before and after every
home football game.
Our Chapter’s prime location near the football stadium will offer a tailgating experience second
to none. Alumni won’t have to be concerned with arriving early to secure a tailgating spot
or hauling large quantities of supplies and food. Reservations include parking for one vehicle
in the Fraternity parking lot.
The tailgating experience is offered for a contribution of $2,500 to the House Corporation and
will be available for all seven home games during the football season. Once you secure a tent,
you are guaranteed a tent spot the following season, as long as you reapply when prompted
each year by the deadline.
ONLY ONE SPACE REMAINS! (for the 2008 season) To reserve the remaining tent space or for more information, please contact the Tailgate Treasurer,
Jay Masingill, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (205) 792-0599 cell.
